Wind Turbines - The Case For And Against.

There are many advocates of wind farms, although many opposed too. The problem being that the advocates either have nothing to lose by supporting them (i.e. those whom are not living in locations affected by wind turbines) or will gain financially from their installation.

It is often the case, therefore, that the only groups of people opposed seem to be those living in the areas directly affected by the turbines.

There is, however, a large body of evidence that refutes the environmental credentials of wind farms and much that proves the environmental menace and nuisance they can be.

This article - written by an anonymous objector to a Scottish development is an excellent in depth study. It gives sources for data with evidence against some environmental ideas generally and wind turbines specifically. The sources used for the research range from parliamentary select committees to the Royal Academy of Engineers.

I found this impeccably researched article a big eye opener - even as a sceptic of wind turbines the evidence against them is startlingly comprehensive.

Finally, Mike Buckley of Saddleworth Historical Society and Saddleworth Civic Trust prepared an excellent presentation about this issue. It is available from our site here.
