HEADLINE: BUILDING LINK TO MUDSLIDE
BODY:
THE building of
a wind farm helped trigger a massive mudslide which almost
engulfed a
village, an investigation found yesterday.
Locals fled their homes as
thousands of tonnes of peat and debris swept down
towards Derrybrien, Co
Galway last October.
The report found the construction of the 71 turbine
farm, which is owned by
a subsidiary of ESB, was partially to blame for the
mudslide.
Residents said last night construction on the site should not
continue until
an independent investigation is carried out.
